The historical context of "King Andrew the First" is after President Andrew Jackson ordered to remove federal deposits from the the Bank of the United States in September.

The audience is The purpose is to show that the people of Jackson was America, using more showing that their president is power than he acting the same had, as if in a way the King did monarchy. The point of view is most likely a common person living in the US at the time, but someone who could have benefitted from the federal deposits from the Bank of the United States. This person believes that Jackson is disregarding the Declaration of Independence (as seen in the cartoon).

The cartoon reveals that Americans had a negative attitude towards Andrew Jackson and the democracy he was leading. They felt like they were insurperior, being ruled and dictated by a king who cared only about his wishes, not the Constitution. Americans most likely wished for a more respectable and fair PRESIDENT, not a ruler....
