Write your own, personal Career Development Plan. (this assignment is meant to give the students a first try to design the map that they will navigate during their professional life, as they see it now)

Part 1 (8 points) 1. Write down your primary field of interest

My primary field of interest is to become a business woman.

2. Write down personal hobbies & skills

I am hardworking and helpful to others. I am good at managing work and time.

3. Assess yourself where you are at the moment (self-assessment)

I am a post graduate student and diploma holder in CBA ( Computer Based Accounting).

4. Write down where you want to be in the future

I would like to be a business manager.

Part 2 (8 points) 5. Write down short and long term goals

I want to maintain good relations with my senior authorities and junior staff by orgainizing meetings from time to time. I would like to ensure that I am handling the business affairs very well to increase profits for the organization.

6. Write down means to achieve these goals

I love to learn something new. I always try to update my knowledge ad sharpen my skills and potential.

7. Write down bariers/hindernisses to your goals

Family responsibilities and issues may have impact on my performance in my profession.

8. Figure out ways to overcome them

I will try to stop family issues and to share my responsibilities with other family members as per the need.

Part 3 (8 points) 9. Write down how you are going to measure your progress

I can measure the progress: increase in profits of the projects managed by me, Promotion, response of juniors and senior staff, Achievements of yearly basis awards.

10. Set a timeline to achieve short- and long-term goals

In the first year, I would like to maintain good relationships to create my image and to manage local projects of the business. In the next 2 or 3 years, I want to manage big projects After that I want to get promotion on the basis of my performance.

11. Mark the milestones

The milestone for me is to gain more and more experiences in managing business affairs and projects, to receive awards and certificates for my good performance. It will be very helpful for me if I want to start my own business.

12. Keep the plan dynamic (adapt to change) – have plan B or even C in place

In future, if want to change my profession then I will go for teaching....
