Brittany Packnett is a teacher and activist. She teaches to inspire action. In the video

“How to build your confidence - and spark it in others”, Brittany explains to the audience the importance of building confidence and how society doesn’t see it as a necessity or norm. She sees confidence as the spark to start a project and finish it. It’s the ability to act. Brittany says the three steps to gain confidence are permission, community, and curiosity. Through personal examples, Brittany shows the audience how these three steps can be reached. She concludes with the final thought that we are the ones to make this change in how we view confidence. 2.

I believe Brittany’s speech is an informative speech because she is explaining the three

steps to gain confidence and the importance of confidence in our society. This is the “how” part of “How to build your confidence – and spark it in others”. The second part of the title is the call to action, Brittany is trying to inspire us to act. She concludes with “we are the ones to make it so”, she is encouraging us to understand and spread that confidence is the key. Throughout the whole speech Brittany highlights the importance of confidence in our world and gives real life examples of how people are gaining and losing confidence in themselves.
