Περί του Νέου Νόμου για την εισαγωγή στην τριτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση, την προστασία της ακαδημαϊκής ελευθερίας και την αναβάθμιση των Ανωτάτων Εκπαιδευτικών Ιδρυμάτων 14/2/2021 , Από Δημήτρη Μηνατίδη,M.Sc. Γεωλόγο-Γεωχημικό Μετά από τρεις συνεδριάσεις στη Βουλή, με 150 ομιλίες βουλευτών και τοποθετήσεις αρκετών υπουργών, ολοκληρώθηκε εν μέσω αντιδράσεων και αντεγκλήσεων από την αντιπολίτευση, η συζήτηση και ψήφιση του νομοσχέδιου του Υπ. Παιδείας για την εισαγωγή στην τριτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση, την προστασία της ακαδημαϊκής ελευθερίας και την αναβάθμιση των Ανωτάτων Εκπαιδευτικών Ιδρυμάτων. Με αφορμή τον νέο νόμο-πλαίσιο για τα Ανώτατα Εκπαιδευτικά Ιδρύματα της Χώρας θα ήθελα να επισημάνω δύο πράγματα : Ποτέ δεν ασχολήθηκα με την Πολιτική όταν ήμουν φοιτητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών γιατί είχα «ερωτευθεί» την Γεωλογία , ως ασκούμενος φοιτητής στον «ΔΗΜΟΚΡΙΤΟ» από το 1968 μέχρι το 1971 , και ως Γεωλόγος ερευνητής μέχρι το 1986 που πήρα μετάθεση για το Υπουργείο Βιομηχανίας (Υπουργείο Ανάπτυξης) , ήμουν «ναυτικός στην στεριά» με την έρευνα για ουράνιο. Σε όλη μου την ζωή στηρίζω και θα στηρίζω με τα ΟΡΥΚΤΟΛΟΓΙΚΑ ΝΕΑ –NEWS ON MINERALS φοιτητές που θέλουν να ανοίξουν τα φτερά τους. Το Πανεπιστήμιο της Αθήνας ,παρά τις όποιες μουρμούρες , μας έδωσε σπουδαία γνώση. Αλλά πάντα υπάρχει το ανικανοποίητο στους φοιτητές ,πολύ περισσότερο τώρα που το χρήμα στερεύει και δεν υπάρχουν πολλές επιλογές να βρεις εργασία στο αντικείμενο που αγαπάς ή και να βρεις απλά εργασία. Ο ηλεκτρονικός υπολογιστής ήταν τότε στο ξεκίνημά του και η θητεία στις Ένοπλες Δυνάμεις ήταν 24 μήνες στον Στρατό Ξηράς και 27 μήνες στο Πολεμικό Ναυτικό και 27 μήνες στην Πολεμική Αεροπορία. Και όχι catering ,αλλά με το ζεστό τσάϊ το πρωϊ καθάριζες τα βούτυρα στην καραβάνα ! Ευλογημένη θητεία σε έκανε ανθεκτικό σαν ατσάλι και ταπεινό. Να τα θυμόμαστε και αυτά ! Ήμουν επίσης δυόμισυ χρόνια στο Πανεπιστήμιο Memorial στην Νέα Γη στον Καναδά για το Master΄s σε θέμα Γεωχημείας και ορυκτολογίας κοιτασμάτων ουρανίου στο Λαβραδόρ. Ωράριο στο Πανεπιστήμιο 9.00 π.μ. έως 5 μ.μ. με μία διακοπή 12.00- 1.00 μ.μ. για Lunch time. Όσοι θέλαμε να μείνουμε από τις 5 μ.μ. και μετά , βλέπαμε αστυνομικούς του Πανεπιστημίου ανά δύο άτομα με σκυλιά Λαβραδόρ να περιπολούν εντός και εκτός των κτιρίων του Πανεπιστημίου Memorial. Χιλιάδες φοιτητές κυκλοφορούσαν και η παρουσία των αστυνομικών με τα σκυλιά ράτσας Λαβραδόρ είτε υπήρχαν ή δεν υπήρχαν ήταν τον ίδιο.Να ληφθεί υπ΄όψη ότι οι Καναδοί σαν λαός είναι φιλόζωοι ,οι φοιτητές έπαιζαν με τα σκυλιά ράτσας Λαβραδόρ και τα σκυλιά ήταν εξοικειωμένα με τους φοιτητές. Και αυτά στον Καναδά σε μία ελεύθερη δημοκρατική Χώρα που έχει αγαπηθεί από όλους όσοι έκαναν Μεταπτυχιακές σποδές εκεί. (Τι θα συνέβαινε σε Ελληνικό Πανεπιστήμιο με μία τέτοια εικόνα ;). Μόνο που ο Νόμος στο MUN Campus ήταν Νόμος π.χ. Όταν πλησίαζε ο καιρός να υποβάλλω το Master΄s και να επιστρέψω στην Ελλάδα , στάθμευσα μία φορά το αυτοκίνητό μου στον χώρο στάθμευσης του κτιρίου της Χημείας διότι δεν υπήρχε θέση στον χώρο στάθμευσης στο κτίριο της Γεωλογίας και βρήκα πρόστιμο Can $1.00 . Επέστρεψα στην Ελλάδα και λαμβάνω επιστολή που έλεγε ότι για να μου απονεμηθεί η περγαμηνή του Master΄s , έπρεπε να πληρώσω το πρόστιμο 1 δολάριο Καναδά , το οποίο και πλήρωσα ! Οι μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές αποτελούν τον μηχανισμό που «κινεί» την Βόρειο Αμερική. Όλοι σε αυτόν τον μηχανισμό αξιολογούνται συνεχώς είτε είναι Καθηγητές είτε πτυχιακοί είτε μεταπτυχιακοί σπουδαστές. Για ρωτείστε και σημερινούς Καθηγητές που έκαναν διδακτορικό σε γερμανικά Πανεπιστήμια να σας πουν την γνώμη τους. Ξεσηκωμοί φοιτητών στην Ελλάδα έχουν γίνει κατά καιρούς με αποκορύφωμα την περίφημη «γενιά του Πολυτεχνείου» , όπου , ως γνωστόν , μετέπειτα έλαβαν θέσεις εξουσίας.

Μπαμπινιώτης αναφέρει ότι «πρέπει αντικειμενικά να παραδεχθούμε ότι αποτελεί πραγματική μεταρρύθμιση ή – με παλαιότερους πολιτικούς όρους της ίδιας παράταξηςεκ βάθρων «αναδόμηση» της Ανώτατης Εκπαίδευσης, με την οποία αναλαμβάνεται μια σοβαρή προσπάθεια να «νοικοκυρευτούν» τα ΑΕΙ και να ξεπεράσουν βασικές αδυναμίες τους. Αυτό, βεβαίως, έχει προφανή τον κίνδυνο και μεγάλων αντιδράσεων και κυρίως τον κίνδυνο να ασχολούνται τα ΑΕΙ για αρκετά από τα επόμενα χρόνια μόνο με τη μεταρρύθμιση αντί για τη διδασκαλία, την επιστήμη και την έρευνα. Ο ρόλος ολόκληρης τής Αντιπολίτευσης σ΄ αυτή τη μεταρρύθμιση μπορεί και πρέπει να είναι καθοριστικός. Είναι η τελευταία ευκαιρία για «συνευθύνη» στην επίλυση τού μεγάλου θέματος τής Ανώτατης Εκπαίδευσης, εξίσου σημαντικού αν όχι σπουδαιότερου (μακροπρόθεσμα) κι από το οικονομικό πρόβλημα τής χώρας, αφού καθορίζει πλήθος άλλων θεμάτων τής ζωής και τής ανάπτυξης τής Ελλάδος» https://www.babiniotis.gr/.../180-o-neos-nomos-plaisio... Μέσα στην δύσκολη οικονομικοκοινωνική κατάσταση της Πατρίδας μας σε ένα άρθρο μου στα ΟΡΥΚΤΟΛΟΓΙΚΑ ΝΕΑ –NEWS ON MINERALS ,τεύχος Ιανουάριος-Φεβρουάριος 2021 , προτείνω να δημιουργηθούν επιτροπές επιστημόνων που θα έχουν έδρα σε κάθε Νομό και θα ερευνήσουν τις δυνατότητες για επενδύσεις με προτεραιότητα το περιβάλλον , επενδύσεις συμβατές με το μέγεθος του Νομού και αμέσου αποδόσεως. Η σύνθεση κάθε επιτροπής θα είναι : ●Γεωλόγος ●Βιολόγος ●Φυσικός ●Χημικός ●Γεωπόνος ●Πτυχιούχος Νομικής ●Πολιτικός Μηχανικός Λεπτομέρειες αναφέρονται στο άρθρο .Ομιλούμε για πτυχιούχους 50 γεωλόγους (όσοι είναι οι Νομοί της Χώρας – εξαιρείται ο Νομός Αττικής) , 50 βιολόγους,50 φυσικούς ,50 Χημικούς , 50 γεωπόνους, 50 πτυχιούχους Νομικής και 50 Πολιτικούς Μηχανικούς . Οι γνώσεις έχουν εξελιχθεί και το κλειδί σήμερα είναι τα έξυπνα μυαλά. -Εργάζομαι πάνω στο Οργανόγραμμα αυτής της γιγαντιαίας προσπάθειας που πιστεύω ότι εάν εγκριθεί θα δώσει ανάσα στην Ελληνική Περιφέρεια και θα συμβάλει στην αποσυμφόρηση σταδιακά του Λεκανοπεδίου Αττικής. -Το ερώτημα είναι , εάν προταθεί και εγκριθεί ένα τέτοιο Πρόγραμμα ,θα υπάρχουν νέοι επιστήμονες που θα θελήσουν μείνουν π.χ. για ένα χρόνο στην Περιφέρεια , να εργασθούν στην ύπαιθρο και να βοηθήσουν την Περιφέρεια να αναπτυχθεί ; -Πιστεύω ότι αυτές είναι πολιτισμένες και δημιουργικές προτάσεις που βοηθούν τους νέους επιστήμονες για το το ζητούμενο ,δηλαδή εργασία και όχι η αντίδραση και αντίρρηση σε κάθε καινούργιο. Πάντα υπάρχουν τα αμφιβόλου ψυχοσύνθεσης δημοσιεύματα και αναρτήσεις στο διαδίκτυο που σκοπό έχουν να υποδαυλίζουν επικίνδυνες καταστάσεις με την έννοια να κυλάει ο πολύτιμος βιολογικός χρόνος αναξιοποίητος και να οδηγήσουν σε ολισθηρό δρόμο.Όμως πιστεύω ότι οι έξυπνοι φοιτητές ανεπηρέαστοι θα προχωρούν στο όνειρό τους με οποιονδήποτε Νόμο. ******* On the New Law on the Introduction to Higher Education, the Protection of Academic Freedom and the Upgrading of Higher Education Institutions 14 February 2021 by Dimitris G. Minatidis After three sessions in the Parliament, with 150 speeches of deputies and positions of several ministers, the discussion and voting of the bill of the Ministry of Education was completed amid reactions and counterclaims by the opposition, for the introduction to higher education, the protection of academic freedom and the upgrading of Higher Education Institutions. On the occasion of the new framework law for the Higher Education Institutions of the country, I would like to point out two things: I never got involved in Politics when I was a student at the University of Athens because I had "fallen in love" with Geology and as a trainee student at "DEMOKRITOS" in 1968 until 1971 and as an Exploration Geologist until 1986 when I was transferred to the Ministry of Industry (Ministry of Development), I was a "land seafarer" in the uranium exploration. All my life I support and will support with the ORYKTOLOGIKA NEA-NEWS ON MINERALS , students who want to open their wings. The University of Athens, despite all the murmurs, gave us great knowledge. But there is always the unsatisfied in the students, especially now that the money is running out and there are not many options to find a job in the subject you love or to just find a job. The computer was then in its infancy and the tenure in the Armed Forces was 24 months in the Army and 27 months in the Navy and 27 months in the Air Force. And not catering, but with the hot tea in the morning you cleaned the butter in the caravan! A blessed term made you resilient like steel and humble. Let us remember these too! I was also two and a half years at the Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada for a Master degree in Geochemistry and Mineralogy of uranium deposits in Labrador. Working hours at the University 9.00 a.m. until 5 p.m. with a break 12.00- 1.00 p.m. for Lunch time. Those of us who wanted to stay from 5 p.m. and then, we saw University police officers in pairs with Labrador dogs patrolling in and out of Memorial University buildings.

Thousands of students were circulating and the presence of police with Labrador dogs whether they existed or not was the same. Keep in mind that Canadians,as a people , are animal lovers, students played with Labrador dogs and the dogs were familiar with the students. And this in Canada , a free democratic country that has been loved by all those who did postgraduate studies there. (What would happen in a Greek University with a similar case ?). However the Law on the MUN Campus was a Law e.g. When it was time to submit the Master΄s and return to Greece, I once parked my car in the parking lot of the Chemistry building because there was no parking space in the Geology building and found a Can $ 1.00 fine. I returned to Greece and received a letter saying that in order to be awarded the Master΄s parchment, I had to pay the fine of 1 Canadian dollar, which I paid! Postgraduate studies are the mechanism that "moves" North America. Everyone in this mechanism is constantly evaluated whether they are Professors or undergraduate or graduate students. Ask today's Professors who have done a doctorate in German Universities to tell you their opinion. Student uprisings in Greece have taken place from time to time, culminating in the famous "Polytechnic generation", where, as is well known, they later took positions of power. Regarding the new framework law for universities, G. Babiniotis states that "we must objectively admit that it is a real reform or - in older political terms of the same Party - a fundamental" reconstruction "of Higher Education, which undertakes a serious effort to "house" the universities and overcome their basic weaknesses. This, of course, has the obvious risk of great reactions and especially the risk that AEI will be engaged for several of the next few years only in reform instead of teaching science and research. The role of the entire Opposition in this reform can and must be decisive. "It is the last opportunity for" co-responsibility "in solving the great issue of Higher Education, equally important if not more important (in the long run) than the economic problem of the country, since it determines many other issues of life and development of Greece" https://www.babiniotis.gr/.../180-o-neos-nomos-plaisio... In the difficult socio-economic situation of our country in an article in ORYKTOLOGIKA NEA - NEWS ON MINERALS, issue January-February 2021, I propose that scientific committees of scientists can be based in each prefecture and to explore the possibilities for investments ,having as priority the environment, investments compatible with the size of the Prefecture and direct return. The composition of each committee will be: ● Geologist ● Biologist ● Physicist ● Chemist ● Agronomist ● Law graduate ● Civil Engineer Details are mentioned in the article. We are talking about graduates 50 geologists (as is the number of Prefectures in this Country - except the Prefecture of Attica), 50 biologists, 50 physicists, 50 Chemists, 50 agronomists, 50 law graduates and 50 Civil Engineers. Knowledge has evolved and the key today is smart minds. - I am working on the Organization Chart of this gigantic effort that I believe that if approved will give a breath to the Greek Countryside and will contribute to the gradual decongestion of the Attica Basin. -The question is, if such a Program is proposed and approved, will there be young scientists who will want to stay e.g. for a year in the Countryside , to work in the field and help the Countryside to develop? -I believe that these are civilized and creative proposals that help young scientists for what is required, i.e. positions of work and not the reaction and objection to anything new. There are always posts and uploads of dubious psychosynthesis that aim to incite dangerous situations in the sense that the valuable biological time is wasted and lead to a slippery slope. But I believe that smart, unaffected students will advance in their dream according to any Law.

My thesis at level Master of Science at MUN , St. John΄s , Newfoundland , Canada

Note : The Department of Geology at Rice University is probably the best school of Uranium in North America but beyond my will , I missed the opportunity to study for a Ph.D. at Rice University in Houston , Texas , USA and all I have left as a souvenir is the relevant correspondence! -- Μετά την ολοκλήρωση του M.Sc. στον Καναδά, υπέβαλα αίτηση και έγινα δεκτός στο Τμήμα Γεωλογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Rice στο Χιούστον του Τέξας, ΗΠΑ με ετήσια υποτροφία ύψους 4.000 δολαρίων ΗΠΑ (έτος 1976) , αλλά οι ελληνικές αρχές μου ζήτησαν να επιστρέψω στην Ελλάδα και να στηρίξω την συνεχιζόμενη τότε έρευνα για ουράνιο στην Ελλάδα. Σημείωση: Το Τμήμα Γεωλογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Rice είναι πιθανώς το καλύτερο σχολείο για έρευνα Ουρανίου στη Βόρεια Αμερική, αλλά πέρα από τη θέλησή μου, έχασα την ευκαιρία να σπουδάσω για διδακτορικό. στο Πανεπιστήμιο Rice στο Χιούστον, Τέξας, ΗΠΑ και το μόνο που μου έμεινε σαν ενθύμιο είναι η σχετική αλληλογραφία!

On the occasion of my M.Sc. thesis I wish to publish a couple of photos from my work both in Makkovik , Labrador, Canada but also in Uranium Exploration in Greece, as all Planet Earth is One.

●They bring to me fond memories when in the Summer of 1974 and for 4 months I worked in Makkovik Uranium area of Labrador. I flew every day for 4 months over a large area with a helicopter Alouette called “Super bee” , hence its colors were black and yellow. Support during the field and lab work by British Newfoundland Exploration Ltd based in Montreal and financial support (fellowship) by International Atomic Energy Agency is very much appreciated. -I believe that in the near future the Departments of Geology of Greek Universities should have a helicopter and exist as a course "how to fly a helicopter", like the other courses of Geology and the Graduate Geologist will be at the same time a helicopter pilot. Huge advantage!
