Demonstration speech outline Specific Purpose: To inform audience on how to make a cake in a mug with two ingredients Central Idea: Explain to the audience the important steps needed in order to make a quick dessert conveniently and inexpensively. Introduction

1.

Have you ever had a late-night craving? Ever wanted a sweet treat but without much work? Well, I have a solution for you! Listen up! Especially all of my fellow college students.

2.

I will be demonstrating how to make a mug cake. A simple cake made in a cup in a microwave with little to no time using only two ingredients. a. When it comes to modern-day priorities around food, efficiency is key. Unlike traditional times where we organized our life around eating, eating is now organized into our lives (Dyroff, 2019). Transition: Let me show how to easily fit this sweet treat into your life!

Body 1.

For this craft, you are going to need a mug, a fork, milk and cookies. a. I will be using almond milk and I will be using Oreos because who doesn’t love Oreos. b. Growing up, my siblings and I would always sneak Oreos and milk late at night and hope to not get caught by our parents. c. I guess they really are Americans favorite cookie (laugh, laugh)

First, you are going to grab four to five cookies. You can have more or less depending on your preference.

a. you are going to crush the cookies up to a semi-fine texture with your fork in the mug. b. Did you know that Oreos were first manufactured at the Nabisco factory in New York City in 1912. Every Oreo cookie contains 90 ridges, 12 flowers, 12 dashes, and 12 dots. And it takes 59 minutes to make a single Oreo (Mordoh, 2017). c. Pretty cool right? Your crushed cookies should look like this 3.

Next, you are going to add about 2 tablespoon of milk and mix up until you have a smooth consistency a. (like so, like that) (show mug)

Then, you are going to place the mug in the microwave for 30 secs. a. Remove the mug from the microwave and let cool for 15 secs.

Oreos have really evolved since their first appearance in society. Originally, Oreos were not available to the public. Oreos were associated with high-class and considered a biscuit and were served at tea-time. (Corrao, 2020). a. Grateful that this has since changed! Couldn’t imagine not being able to indulge in delicious Oreos.

Transition: Speaking of indulge, it’s time for us to indulge in our creation!! (yayyy) Conclusion

1. The moment we’ve all been waiting for. a. This is the finished product (show cup) b. Feel free to add anything extra, make it your own and enjoy your cake! 2. This mug cake is so convenient and can fit in anyone’s life. Not to mention with only two ingredients it is cost effective and efficient. 3. I love Oreos for their uniqueness and rich history. Every Oreo is designed with intent which makes them one of a kind. 4. Since you have made it to the end, a. Congratulations, you are officially a cake boss! (laughs). 5. This concludes the tutorial for today.
