Specific Purpose Statement: To persuade the audience to know about importance of recycling Thesis Statement : One person can make a difference just recycling and taking care of the environment. Introduction

Attention Getter: Have you ever thought about how much garbage you produce every day?According to Environmental Protection Agency “The average person generates over 4 pounds of trash every day and about 1.5 tons of solid waste each day”.

Thesis Statement: One person can make a difference just recycling and taking care of the environment. Audience Incentive: A recyclable product is turned back into a raw form that can be used to create a new and different product. Credibility: More than 60% of the rubbish that ends up in trash bins can be recycled. Preview Main Points: The importance of recycling, the satisfaction step, and the visualizing step. Transition Statement: Lets start with what recycling is and it’s importance.

Main Point(s): 1. Recycling is process of collecting and reprocessing materials that would typically be

considered waste. a. An example of recycling is reforming old glass bottles into glass building tiles b. A recyclable product is turned back into a raw form that can be used to create a new and different product. c. Recycling can benefit your community and the environment.

Transition statement: But why should we recycle? What are we going to have if we do it?

2. Recycling has lots of benefits that can help people and save the environment as well. a. Recycling saves the earth: Recycling different products will help the environment.(For example, we know that paper comes from trees and many trees are being cut down just to produce paper. By recycling it, we can help to reduce the number of trees that are cut down.) b. Recycling Helps Mitigate Global Warming and Reduce Pollution: Recycling nonbiodegradable waste will contribute a lot to help reduce air pollution and greenhouse gasses that reduces the ozone layer. c. Recycling helps you Save Money: Recycling provides ways to save money. You can sell recyclable materials to organizations that are willing to buy it. Using products that are recycled lowers expenses.Products that are made from recycled materials are less expensive than products made from fresh materials.

Transition statement: Now let’s talk about what will happen if we don’t recycle?

3. There are going to be consequences if we don't recycle and don’t care about the environment that we are living on. We can apply these steps from our home: a. Start with easy things such as separate the garbage in organic and inorganic, b. separate plastic bottles and glass bottles. c. Encourage others to recycle too

Visualization of the outcome:

a. While not recycling or taking an interest in what happens to the environment may not hurt us now, but once we are older such as 35/45years it will. b. It will affect our children and our grandchildren like it has affected us now.

Transition statement: As we have now visualized the outcome of not recycling the waste material, I will conclude my speech.

Conclusion

Main Points: The importance of recycling , the satisfaction step, and the visualization step. Action step: Recycling is not difficult for us, we can do it from our home. Are you ready to recycle the waste materials and start saving the earth? Clincher: Start with easy things such as separate the garbage in organic and inorganic, separate plastic bottles and glass bottles.
